versatility

The areas of application for our big bags, woven fabric sacks and foils are almost inexhaustible. Our bags are at home everywhere and, thanks to their robustness and sustainability, offer solutions for almost every packaging and storage problem.

Big Bags

A big bag is a transport container for light, lumpy goods or bulk goods. The international designation is FIBC and is an abbreviation for Flexible Intermediate Bulk Container.

This type of packaging originated in the Far East in the mid-1970s as a further development of "slings", which were used to help unload bagged goods from ships.

The design is almost identical worldwide - the cover consists of a polypropylene fabric, the strength of which is adapted to the required properties of the sack - carried by straps or fabric extensions and coated (PP), uncoated or with inner sacks made of different materials.

In terms of size, the limits are set by handling and storage options.

According to the legislature, the big bag falls under lifting gear and must therefore be able to be loaded with at least five times the carried content.

Our flexible containers are tailor-made for extreme demands and uses and are in use worldwide. It doesn't matter whether you're filling agricultural products such as grain, coffee and cocoa or whether you're filling chemicals, hazardous waste, building materials and coal. Our big bags impress with their top quality and reliability.

Groceries

The production of containers for food and pharmaceutical products takes place in separate production rooms that are used exclusively for these purposes.

The container bags we supply are almost 100% made of polypropylene. A material that, when used as intended, does not endanger health due to its composition. Belts, sewing threads and any inner bags used are free of regrind. These materials are physiologically harmless and can be used in the food sector. The additives added in the smallest amounts as well.

pharmaceutical industry

Our products are harmless with regard to §§ 30,31 LMBG. Our products comply with the provisions of the EC regulation on materials and objects that are intended to come into contact with food and the food, consumer goods and feed code. According to Recommendation LII, they are approved for the health assessment of plastics or materials and objects for food contact within the framework of the Food and Feed Code. (Notification 167, Federal Health Gazette 27, 289 (1984), including 206th notification, Federal Health Gazette 46, 444 (2003), status of February 1, 2005 and according to the provisions of the Code of Federal Regulations, Food and Drugs (FD), 21 CFR Ch. I (Issue April 1, 2006), §§ 176.170, 176.180 and Section 177)

animal feed

Our standards are extremely high due to the high utilization of our food-certified production halls. Therefore, very high standards also apply to the big bags that are used for storing and transporting animal feed.

We also make sure that the process and control plan is followed exactly so that nothing is left to chance in our factory and we can also provide our customers with an extremely high standard in the area of industrial cleanliness.

dangerous goods

"UN - Bag", the bag for dangerous goods

Our UN-Bags are suitable for the transport and packaging of dangerous goods of the classes: "very dangerous goods", "dangerous goods" and "less dangerous goods".

BF Weber UN-Bags are ADR, RID, IMDB certified.

Dangerous goods must be packed in good quality packaging, including intermediate bulk containers (IBC) and bulk packaging. These must withstand the shocks and stresses that can occur under normal conditions of carriage, including transfers between modes of transport and/or warehouses, and any removal from a pallet or overpack for subsequent manual or mechanical handling.

The packagings, including intermediate bulk containers (IBCs) and large packagings, must be so manufactured and so closed that, under normal conditions of carriage, the contents of the ready-for-shipment packaging cannot escape, in particular as a result of vibration, temperature changes, changes in humidity or pressure (e.g. caused by differences in height) is avoided.

Packages, including intermediate bulk containers (IBCs) and large packagings, must not have any hazardous residue attached to their exterior during carriage. Where applicable, these regulations apply to new, reused, reconditioned and refurbished packaging and to new and reused intermediate bulk containers (IBCs) and large packagings.

asbestos disposal

Big bags and special big bags such as plate bags and container bags are often used when renovating buildings to safely dispose of materials containing asbestos.

The use of this packaging enables uncomplicated and guaranteed contamination-free handling of the disposal of toxic materials.

For the disposal of small materials containing asbestos, such as fragments or coarser dust, we provide our customers with ribbon fabric sacks, with which smaller quantities can be removed easily and safely.

wood storage and transportation

Of course, our robust all-rounders are also suitable for storing and transporting wood.

To do this, we use a special process to make our fabric so air-permeable that the wood stored in it is optimally ventilated and can dry. This does not change the load capacity, however, since we have developed a form of attachment for the carrying straps that has the usual resilience of the Big Bags not negatively affected.

Mining

Today, an underground mine resembles a modern manufacturing factory, the work processes are largely automated and are carried out with the appropriate mechanical support. Despite all modern technology, the core task is still driving a tunnel or adit into the mountain or the ground in order to reach ore deposits and mine them economically. Both the ore and the overburden above the deposit must be transported upwards through the descent tunnel, the material required for mining, the air and energy must be conveyed or brought through this tunnel (or additional supply tunnels) to the mining site underground.

chemical industry

This sector is a highly sensitive issue and also requires high-quality packaging for the storage and transport of finished products.

In addition, we have worked together with numerous well-known manufacturers in the course of our more than 40 years of experience and can therefore draw on an almost inexhaustible range of optimal variants for our customers.

Flood protection and public safety

To protect against flooding, you have found ribbon fabric bags to be extremely effective.

Filled with sand, these 25 kg sacks can be optimally used to build a wall and, thanks to their dimensions, can also be easily handled by individuals.

Our sandbags also have a lifting loop at the top to make filling and transporting the filled bags more practical.
